Gerber oatmeal

Description

A quick and nutritious recipe using Gerber Oatmeal, perfect for babies starting solids or as a versatile ingredient for family meals.

Ingredients

      • Gerber Oatmeal Cereal (single-grain, iron-fortified)

      • Breast milk, formula, or water (for mixing)

      • Optional mix-ins: mashed banana, applesauce, pureed veggies, or a pinch of cinnamon

Instructions

1: Gather Your Ingredients

A bowl of Gerber oatmeal mixed with milk, ready to cook.

Combine the oats, hemp hearts, cinnamon, applesauce, and milk in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir well with a spoon, making sure to scrape any ingredients stuck to the sides so everything is evenly mixed at the bottom of the bowl.

2: Measure the Oatmeal

Microwave the mixture for about 2 minutes. Carefully remove the bowl from the microwave—it may be hot!

3: Add Liquid

Use a spatula to gently push any bits of oatmeal from the sides of the bowl down into the mixture. The oatmeal should start forming a small “cake” at the bottom of the bowl.

4: Mix Thoroughly

Let the mixture cool for 10–15 minutes. This part is super important! Cooling allows the oatmeal to firm up enough to lift it out of the bowl in one piece. If it still feels too soft, give it a few more minutes.

5: Heat (Optional)

Gently slide a spatula underneath the edges to loosen it from the bowl

Once the oatmeal cake has solidified, gently slide a spatula underneath the edges to loosen it from the bowl.

6: Serve and Enjoy

SERVING AND ENJOY

Carefully transfer the oatmeal cake onto a cutting board or plate. Top with your favorite ingredients—like sliced fruit, yogurt, or a dri

Notes

  • Always test the oatmeal’s temperature before serving.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 24 hours and stir in more liquid when reheating.
