Description
Learn how to make perfectly crispy crinkle cut fries at home with easy steps, pro tips, and seasoning ideas that everyone will love!
Ingredients
- Good-sized russet potatoes
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Sea salt
- Lightly dust on top after baking (optional but highly recommended)
- A wavy-edge cutter
Instructions
1: Peel the Potatoes
Start by peeling the potatoes and giving them a good wash.
2: Slice the Potatoes
Using a crinkle cutter, slice the potatoes into thick slices, then cut each slice into individual fries.
3: Dry the Fries
Repeat the cutting of your potatoes until they are all made into wavy fries. Arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Then dry them with a paper towel. This will help achieve the much-coveted crispy texture!

4: Season with Olive Oil and Salt
Pour olive oil and lightly season the fries with salt.

5: Toss to Coat
Lightly mix or shake the fries on the tray to evenly coat them with oil and seasoning.
6: Lay the Fries Flat
Spread the fries out in a single layer on the tray. Make sure they don’t overlap—this guarantees even cooking.

7: Bake to Perfection
Bake the fries at 425°F for about 25 minutes. Flip them halfway through baking (around the 15-minute mark) to get that golden crispiness on all sides.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, bake fries on a wire rack.
- Customize the seasoning by adding garlic powder, paprika, or pepper.
- Store leftover fries in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
